Michael Schina, Jr., M.D.

Michael Schina, Jr., M.D.


Dr. Michael Schina was born and raised in South Philadelphia. He graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Schina was a trauma and peripheral vascular surgeon at Temple University Hospital. 


He was also on the faculty of Temple University before spending nearly a decade working in the research laboratories at Merck Pharmaceuticals. He was certified by the American Board of Surgery, has authored several publications, and has given multiple presentations on a wide variety of medical subjects. 


Dr. Schina has been practicing interventional pain management for the last 8 years. He is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine. 


Outside of work, he is an avid gardener, an audio/video savant, and has a big soft spot for his golden retrievers.


Jarrad Teller, B.S., D.C.

Jarrad Teller, B.S., D.C.


Dr. Jarrad Teller grew up in Abington, PA and was a basketball star at Abington High School. He enjoys being active with his daughter’s sports teams, working out, and traveling with his family.


Dr. Teller has over 20 years of chiropractic experience in pain management and rehabilitation. He has worked with clients in the Upper Darby and Philadelphia areas for many years, assisting them with relief from chronic, stress and injury-related pain throughout the Musculoskeletal and nervous systems.


Dr. Teller first graduated from the University of Maryland, and soon after attended Life University to achieve his Doctorate Degree. He holds post-graduate degrees in physiotherapy, extremity adjustments, and rehabilitation, and is board certified.

Ms. Ching-Carter joined Art og Pain Management in December 2017. She graduated from Drexel University in 2001 and has a strong foundational clinical background.


Ms. Ching-Carter is very experienced in working with different communities of various cultures and backgrounds and has worked in outpatient settings, hospitals, home care, and outreach clinics.


Her passion in Pain Management stems from the desire to help individuals improve their quality of life.


She is married with three children and lives with her husband in Chadds Ford, PA.


Jerry Penders, Patient Care Advocate and Educator

Jerry Penders, Patient Care Advocate and Educator


Jerry Penders is a graduate of the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Jerry was born and raised in the Doylestown area and currently resides in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia.


He is a die-hard Eagles fan, an avid skier, and loves to travel.


Jerry has spent over six years with the Art of Pain Management. He has educated thousands of patients and doctors about the many different modalities of treating chronic pain.


As a former professional athlete, Jerry has an aptitude for living healthy and a passion for helping patients achieve a healthy lifestyle. His mission is to continue educating patients with the ultimate goal of helping them experience a vibrant life again.
